What does your role involve?
Transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography, currently in training for a physiologist led valve surveillance clinic role.
Contributing to the training of colleagues including (PTP equivalence, PTP & STP training programs and BSE adult echocardiography accreditation)
Assisting with research projects.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
Busy! A mix of providing inpatient and outpatient echocardiography cover, training of patient request forms, assisting colleagues with training.
What is the best bit of your role?
Combining science & technology to assist in the diagnosis or monitoring of heart disease.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of moving from a practitioner to a scientist role?
Go for it! You will have more skills, experience and knowledge than you think!
